From Your Pastor: Thank You!

Dear KCPC Family,

Thank you for participating in our evangelistic outreach for the 4th of July Parade in Purcellville! Thank you for your prayers and encouragements and invitations to our neighbors. I thought of this Scripture:

“…Welcome one another as Christ has welcomed you, for the glory of God” (Rom. 15:7)

May the LORD richly bless you for your sacrificial, self-denial, and desire to glorify Him!

Thank you for all who participated in the design of the new fliers, and for being a part of the KCPC float in the parade, especially our dedicated and zealous young folks!! Thank you, thank you, thank you! While walking in the parade, as it was raining, I felt a drop of rain roll down my face onto my nose, and down my chin, and I look around at all involved, and saw deep zeal and joy for Christ our King; there were smiles on every face! I thought of this Scripture:

“Behold, how good and pleasant it is when brothers dwell in unity! It is like the precious oil on the head, running down on the beard, on the beard of Aaron, running down on the collar of his robes! It is like the dew of Hermon, which falls on the mountains of Zion! For there the LORD has commanded the blessing, life forevermore.” (Psa. 133).

While it wasn’t oil running down our heads and beards, it certainly did remind me that Christ had unified you (us!) all by His Spirit, and had given you grace and power to endure joyfully. The LORD has commanded blessings on this kind of unity in Christ! Hallelujah! I thought of these Scriptures:

“May the God of endurance and encouragement grant you to live in such harmony with one another, in accord with Christ Jesus, that together you may with one voice glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ” (Rom. 15:5-6).

“May you be strengthened with all power, according to his glorious might, for all endurance and patience with joy…” (Col. 1:11)

May the LORD richly bless you for your sacrificial, self-denial, and desire to glorify Him!

Our church in the parade displayed for the world to see the following few things (and you may have thought of many more!):

  • The unity of Christ and His Church.
  • The joy of the Spirit even in the rain (Christians can rejoice even when it “rains on our parade”).
  • The glory of being zealous for the worship of God.
  • The hospitality of Jesus in inviting our neighbors to join us for the preaching of the word and for the worship of God.
  • The kindness of God our Savior in being involved in the midst of our community and in the lives of others.

GLORY BE TO GOD! FROM HIM, AND THROUGH HIM, AND TO HIM ARE ALL THINGS, TO GOD BE THE GLORY!

May the LORD richly bless you for your sacrificial, self-denial, and desire to glorify Him!

Thank you for making the invitation part of our evangelistic outreach a success. Now what are you to do?
