About KCPC

Our Beliefs

AN EVANGELICAL CHURCH. We believe that the Bible is God’s holy, inerrant and inspired Word and that salvation from sin is by grace alone through Christ alone, who must be received by faith alone (2 Tim. 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:3). We do not use the term “evangelical” loosely, but understand it as describing those churches who are building on the faithful witness and “evangel” or gospel of the apostles found in Scripture.

A CHRIST-CENTERED CHURCH. We believe in Scripture alone as the foundation of our congregation, Christ alone as the center of our worship and hope of our salvation, faith alone in Christ by the grace of God alone, and all of our lives and worship to the glory of God alone! (Luke 24:44-49; John 5:39)

A PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH. “Presbyterian” refers to our form of church government. This congregation is ruled by elders who have been spiritually gifted by God, examined by the present body of elders and chosen by the members of the church (Eph. 4:11; 1 Tim. 3:5, 10; 5:22; Acts 6:1-6; 15).

A CHURCH OF THE OPC. We are a member of the Orthodox Presbyterian Church. “Orthodox” means we stand for the straight teaching of the Bible and that congregations are to be connected and accountable to one another (Acts 15).

Our Mission

GOD-CENTERED WORSHIP. The church is an assembly of people who have been called by God to worship Him (1 Peter 2:9). One of our primary goals at Ketoctin Covenant is corporately to enter into God’s presence to give thanks, sing His praises, hear from His word, confess our sins and make our requests known to Him (Hebrews 12:18-29).

EVANGELISM. The church is to proclaim the gospel to those who are spiritually dead in their sins (Matt. 28:18-20; Eph. 2:1-8). It is our goal to reach out to all persons, regardless of race, color, lifestyle, background, or nationality, with the love and grace of the Lord Jesus Christ so that “all nations whom He has made will come and worship Him (Ps. 86:9; Rev. 5:9-11).”

DISCIPLESHIP. It is not only our goal to corporately worship God and evangelize the community but to minister fully to all of our members. It is our endeavor by God’s grace that every person mature spiritually and be equipped for every good work so that they might glorify God in whatever sphere of life they have been called to, whether it be family, business, manual labor, education, or civil government (John 17; Eph. 4:11-16; 2 Tim. 3:16-17).

Our Plan

BIBLICAL WORSHIP. We believe that we are to worship God only in the way He has commanded us in Scripture. We desire to exalt the Name of Christ in our community (Deut. 12:31-32; Mark 7:6-7).

BIBLICAL PREACHING AND TEACHING. The means by which God has chosen to save and disciple His people is through the preaching of the Word (Rom. 10:17; John 17:17). Therefore, we place a strong emphasis on biblical preaching and teaching.

BIBLICAL FELLOWSHIP. We, like the early church, believe that it is important to fellowship formally as well as informally so as to spur one another on towards love and good deeds (Acts 2:42; Heb. 10:24).

BIBLICAL PASTORAL CARE. Jesus has charged the elders to shepherd His people (1 Pet. 5:1-11; Heb. 13:17). Therefore, the elders take an active role in the lives of the members providing oversight and training through loving teaching, counseling, care and discipline.

BIBLICAL LIVING. The goal of salvation is righteous living to the glory of God (Titus 3:5). We strive to be practical in our teaching and implement the truth we learn from the Holy Spirit through the Scriptures in every area of life.
